Accessories are where it’s easiest to either overpay for a brand name or underpay for something that damages the device it’s meant to protect. A little care goes a long way.
Worth spending more on
- Chargers and cables - a poorly-made charger is a genuine safety and battery-health risk. Look for MFi certification (Apple devices) or a recognised brand, and match the wattage to your device’s fast-charging spec.
- Power banks - check the real output wattage and capacity, not just the mAh number printed on the shell - many cheap power banks overstate both.
- Screen protectors for a device you’ll sell later - tempered glass from a known brand is cheap insurance against a resale-killing crack.
Fine to buy cheap
- Basic silicone cases - as long as the cutouts fit your exact model, a budget case protects just as well as a premium one for everyday drops.
- Stands, mounts and holders - low failure consequence if one turns out cheap; easy to replace.

Confirm the accessory is listed for your exact model - a case or charger sized for the wrong generation is a common return. Check the seller’s reputation on our shops page, and compare price across sellers before paying - the same cable or case can vary significantly between shops.
