The iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 look similar, but a few real differences decide which is the smarter buy - especially once you factor in the price gap between them in Sri Lanka.
The differences that matter
- Chip - the iPhone 16 uses Apple’s newer A18, while the iPhone 15 runs the A16. Both are fast; the A18 mainly helps with on-device AI features and future-proofing.
- Apple Intelligence - Apple’s AI features are supported on the iPhone 16 line; the standard iPhone 15 does not run them.
- Camera Control - the iPhone 16 adds the dedicated Camera Control button. Handy, but not essential.
- Shared strengths - both have USB-C, the Dynamic Island, a 48MP main camera and a bright OLED display, so the everyday experience is close.
So which one?
If you want the longest software runway and Apple’s latest AI features, the iPhone 16 is the pick. If you want most of the experience for less, the iPhone 15 is excellent value - particularly when its price drops as newer models arrive. The right answer usually comes down to the current price gap.
Compare live prices
Check both across every Sri Lankan shop before deciding - see the live iPhone and smartphone prices, and for exact specs and each shop’s current price, open the product page for the model you’re considering (for example the latest iPhone Pro). The 30-day price history on each page shows whether now is a good time to buy.
We track prices, not stock every second - always confirm the final price and warranty on the shop’s own site before paying.
