How to spot a genuine, warranty-backed unit
- Ask about warranty - a genuine seller states the warranty clearly (Apple or a local agent). “No warranty” is a red flag.
- Check the serial number - you can verify coverage on Apple’s official “Check Coverage” page using the device’s serial.
- Sealed, brand-new box - unless you’re knowingly buying pre-owned, insist on a factory-sealed unit.
- Realistic pricing - a price far below everyone else usually means refurbished, grey-market, or fake. Compare against the market first.
Choose a shop with a track record
